What more could I say about this book that hasn't been said in the many thousands of reviews? Men in kilts and their wee lasses...this was a wonderful but very long audio book. It took me a few chapters to warm up to the narrator and the story and it was worth the read.

Now I'm ready to watch Outlander.

I had added OUTLANDER to be TBR Shelf on Goodreads years ago. After hearing about the tv show I had decided to give it ago, because I absolutely loved the first couple episodes of the tv series. But this turned out to be a " I can't take it anymore, I have to DNF it" book. OUTLANDER was not bad by any means. Incredibly readable, it has that thing were you keep reading cause you just have to see what is next. I hope the rest share that intangible thing.

Okay, don't hate me, but this book wasn't all that amazing. It was good, but not stellar. For an 850 page book, the pace moved pretty well, and the story was good, but the book just didn't grip me, make me stay up all night reading, etc. I blame Jamie. He seemed like a whiner, and I got tired of hearing about how much he got beat up. I mean, this is a Scottish clansman. Man up already! I will continue with the series though. ...more
