This is the first in the Arcadia Bell series. Arcadia is a magician who can see earthbound demons by there halo's (ha demons with halo's, I love it) which humans can't. Loved it!! Can't wait to start the next book in the series... Which I'm doing immediately :). Loved everything about it; the characters, the plot, the world, the writing. Cady is a great heroine, smart and funny, with none of those TSTL moments you get sometimes in UF ;). Lon is fantastic; I've seen some people are a little bothered by the mustachedness :) I'm not a fan of mustaches myself, but really it's described as more of goatee-ish facial hair. I pictured a Brad-pittish man myself. bradpittgoatee

Shelves: uf, fantasy, demons

I liked it - fun start to the series. Though I expected the twist at the end... not sure why, or what prompted me to "go there", but it certainly didn't diminish it for me.

It's a weird experience reading this immediately after gobbling down the Kara Gillian series, as there are definitely similarities. But this book and world is definitely unique enough that it totally captured my interest. ...more
