I am so getting addicted to coffee by this book!
She mentions it so many time and describes her lust for it so vividly, that i can't resit getting my ass up and making a cup of coffee for my self ...
Great book,so fast packing ,it draws you in ,you don't even notice how fast you get to the last page.
I love it!
(just skip the annoying repeating parts ,where she tries to introduce new readers with the previous books..which btw you will experience in the third book as well) ...more

Charlotte aka Charley Davison is a grim reaper. She helps souls cross over. So is her boyfriend Reyes who comes to her usually in ghost form. In this installment her friend Cookie is looking for another friend Mimi who has disappeared. It seems there are other disappearances related to this one. Charley of course gets into PI mode and then people are trying to kill her. I love that she is snarky and doesn't take most stuff too seriously. Sometimes she annoys me though with going off half-cocked

3.5*s I found the humor less jarring in this one, and it was still funny but it seemed like there was better placement of the humor so that it didn't feel as forced. I do like this series, they're fun reads but they are missing something, an emotional attachment, that marks my favorite series. I really wish Goodreads did the 1/2 star thing because I do like this more than 3 but less than 4. Since they do entertain me and I'll read the next I'm rounding up to 4.

Charley's got a lot on her plate this time around. Reyes is hiding from her, Cookie has a missing friend and a ghost in her trunk.
I like that there was a glimpse into the family dynamics, but I definitely want more. Charley learns more about her powers and Reyes. I want an eventual happy ending, but it isn't looking good. I'll keep reading the series because I like Charley and the band of misfits she has surrounded herself with. ...more

I love Charley, she's so funny, silly-funny, so I understand why some people find her dumb and TSTL. Then again, I read as a hobby and to have fun so she works for me.
Now Reyes... I can't decide what to think of him... sometimes he's the biggest jerk and then I turn the page and I can't believe him.
And what's with the Madame whatever at the end?
I'd still be looking forward to the next one without the cliffhanger. ...more

2.5 stars This one didn't grab me as much as the first book. It was almost too painful to read. Charley is really annoying. I'll read the next book because I like Reyes, I just won't rush to get it right away.
