I enjoy the story line of this series; it embodies all of the teenage angst I expect from a YA Paranormal Romance. My biggest beef with this book was the repetitive use of phrases. The author used "scrubbed his/her hands over his/her face" at least half a dozen times (which is a lot for a short read). I am also pleased that the author is ending the series after the next book. Sometimes I think series go on long after they've jumped the shark, and it's nice to know some authors know when to bring ...more

Spoilers for earlier books!

Before I Wake was just an absolute treat. We're six books into the Soul Screamers series now, and I can firmly state that none of the characters we met in the first book are the same - Kaylee most of all.

I don't know why, but this book had a hard time holding my attention. I think I'm still not thrilled with the fact that Kaylee is dead and am having as hard a time adjusting as Kaylee was. There were definite surprises this time around (view spoiler). I am looking forward to Kaylee and company being more on the proactive side in the next and final book.

I knew this book would be awesome! Just like the rest in this series but a little better!!

Before I Wake is action packed & romance blooms BIG TIME!
I still love most of the characters especially Kaylee, Tod & Em. I even sort of like Sabine now which is something I never thought would happen.

Now all I have to do is be patient until the next is released.....
