The conclusion of a favorite series, where our heroes finally find their happy ending.

While there's quite a bit of action and some twists and turns, some parts of the story seemed too obvious to me and I found myself a bit impatient with both Sydney and Adrian at times.

The main focus of this last adventure was to find Jill and get her to safety, but on the way to the rescue mission, Adrian and Sydney find someone else who needs their help.

I'd say this is more of a 3 1/2 stars than 4.

I've had many frustrations with this series. I was hoping for the same rush and excitement I got from the Vampire Academy series - which in my opinion this series does not have. (At least not in the same way or in the same amount as I wanted).

I didn't find the attraction between Sydney and Adrian to be as full and binding as Rose and Dimitri's relationship. Perhaps, that was a missing point that kept me from loving this series.

As far as endings go, I'd say this is more of a 3 1/2 stars than 4.

As far as endings go, this one was very nicely put together, and it ended in a way I think readers are overall happy with. I wish the solutions to some of Sydney and Adrian's problems didn't come at the expense of their personalities. It seemed too fool-hard-ily (yes I said it) of an outcome to really be how Sydney was portrayed in the first book or even in the Vampire Academy series. She seems much smarter and quick on her feet in the other series and in the first book, some of their solutions particularly their wedding/marriage doesn't feel right.

The Ruby Circle does come around to some of the things I enjoyed initially about the series. Sydney and Adrian weren't revolving around each other like love sick moths to a flame. There was a lot of action and it forced Sydney and Adrian to be able to work by themselves as well as with each other. I think they can do great things on their own. The downfall came in the climax and resolution. Everything was done very quickly and a little too neatly. It was as if Mead wanted the book to be about 100 pages longer, but she decided to cut a lot of stuff out at the last minute. The span of the book is maybe 5 to 7 days and it feels like it needs to take more time. There wasn't enough detail and attention spent on some aspects of the book for my liking. Particularly the way they set about gathering information as well as the execution of the rescue at the end.

Overall, it is a very well thought out ending to a series that a lot of people enjoyed. I'm glad it was reminiscent of the beginning of the series in terms of action. There are a lot of revelations and questions answered. There is a full cast of characters including Rose and Dimitri which was fun to relive. ...more

I was lukewarm about this series, but I thought this was a great end to the story of Sydney & Adrian (Eddie & Jill and Dimitri & Rose).
