What a great book.
I love this world Kristin Cashore has made and how she has populated it with nuanced characters.
So many times in YA you found these characters that for all they have been through, seem completely ignorant of the existence of sex, adult life and what kind of person they want to be in the future. My Thoughts:This will be brief.
While I very much enjoyed this novel & the court intrigue that was just as entertaining as the action in Graceling, I don't like the pattern I'm starting to see throughout the series. In Graceling, Katsa was totally against marriage & in Fire, Fire is totally against having children although she wants them very much. I can see why having children would not be very advisable given who Fire is & what her children would be but.... I feel like every protagonist in this ...more

I really liked Graceling so when I spotted Fire at the library, I grabbed it. Fire is a companion book to Graceling so you can read either book first.
Fire is the story of Fire, a "human" monster from the Dells. She has the ability to read minds, broadcast thoughts, and control people and animals. She is beautiful and sought by many for her abilities.
