I know many readers love this series, but I'm beginning to think it isn't for me. This was my second book by SK - the first was Fantasy Lover - and I still don't know what all the fuss is about. The concept and the mythology of the Dark Hunters are very interesting, but SK's writing didn't work for me again. I really enjoyed this book and I'm not really sure why exactly. Kyrian had a lot to do with it - I'm a big fan of tortured (no pun intended), wounded heroes and a big part of my enjoyment of both of the first 2 Dark Hunter books has been looking back at Julian and Kyrian's history. How they ended up as they did.
My heart broke for Kyrian at his wife's betrayal and much as the first book there was so much pain - he held himself back because he feared getting hurt again.
