Defiance by Lili St. Crow

This book was everything I have been waiting for! The previous 3 books had me interested but seriously aggrivated because the action was choppy, they jumped around, Dru endlessly talked and talked and talked to herself at the most inappropriate times and for pages about the same things over and over. The relationship (between her and Graves) that was building then not going anywhere then possibly picking up just to fall flat again drove me crazy. How many times ca Defiance by Lili St. Crow

This book was everything I have been waiting for! The previous 3 books had me interested but seriously aggrivated because the action was choppy, they jumped around, Dru endlessly talked and talked and talked to herself at the most inappropriate times and for pages about the same things over and over. The relationship (between her and Graves) that was building then not going anywhere then possibly picking up just to fall flat again drove me crazy. How many times can you tell a person you like them and they still don't get that it means YOU LIKE THEM! Then enters Christophe and a whole new set of problems, both romantically and life or death kind of stuff, and endless running around in circles. I was exhausted by the end of book 3 and I seriously wasn't sure if I wanted to go on with book 4. But the ending of book 3 had me snagged and I couldn't let it go like that, sooooo.....I picked up book 4. Book 4 is the reward for sticking it out through the others. I could not put it down. I wasn't ever confused about the fight scenes like I was in the first 2 books. Graves was physically absent, but never out of the picture. Dru did talk to herself a lot, but not as bad as before and the best reward (for me at least) was a conclusion with Ash. I totally enjoyed this book.
I'm still on the fence about who I want Drew to be with. Christophe is her kind and pretty freaking sexy, he's crazy over her and has no problem letting her know how he feels. But is he totally trustable and is he in love with her or a lingering feeling from her mom? Then there's Graves, the sweet goofy goth boy. He shares a paranormal side with her by being a loup-garou, but he is not dhamphir. He has a hard time expressing himself and I just can't get over the feeling of him being more of a big brother to Drew than as a romantic interest. He is her best friend, but he did leave her, which resulted in his kidnapping. So, as I said before, I'm still on the fence. And where this book leaves off doesn't help me decide at all. If anything I'm even more confused and I have more questions about each boy. But my boy confusion aside, this book rocked! Dru kicked some serious ass and it was a joy to read. Lilith St. Crow, you are a master!!!I love this series and think they got way better with every book. I find the last book coming to be bittersweet for me. I don't want it to end, but I want to find out what the end is!!! One of my FAVORITE series! A must-read!!!!Your publishers need to print the last one faster! ...more

Again, I love the fight scenes. Starts off with a bang and doesn’t really stop. Pauses maybe. Story progresses well and quickly and there were no boring moments. Love the relationship development on a few fronts and I feel for her loss and pretty sure I would be much more scared. Reading the next one right away.
