This series has great characters, a great premise, interesting plots, lots of action and a fatal (for me) flaw - every book ends on a cliffhanger, which makes me nuts. Other than my recommendation that you have several ahead of you before you start reading and the statement that you have to start at the beginning for any one book to make sense, it's a fun series with lots to recommend it.
