I liked this one a lot more than the first. The events begin shortly after the end of Ill Wind and most of the book deals with the fallout that. I felt like Ill Wind suffered a bit from being the first book and there was a lot of world building but I didn't really connect with the characters. I didn't feel that way about Heat Stroke at all. I thought that Joanne really came into her own and I liked her growing relationship with David. I wouldn't call the ending a cliffhanger exactly but there's
