I kept expecting more from this. There seemed to be no action until the very end. Because it's the first in the series, it was all build up, but it didn't even seem like world-building, just set-up. Mac was not compelling, nor was Barrons, or V'lane. I was quite disappointed seeing how so many people love this series. However, I have the next two already, so I'll probably get around to reading them, but not anytime soon.

Really enjoyed this book. I didn't give it five stars because I felt it was a little slow moving in the beginning. I loved Mac and Barrons. Can't wait to find out where this series is taking them.
