Interesting book. It reads like a lot of teen books read nowadays, however, it has adult language and content. That being said, I was glad that I wasn't beaten over the head with sexual content. Sure it was there, but that was not the main emphasis of the story.
What I didn't like very much was the ending. It left too many questions unanswered. Darn it, now I will have to get the next book sooner than I anticipated. I must know what happens next! ...more

I loved this book. :)
After my friends repeatedly told me to check out this book, I finally did and boy was I happy.
Macayla Lane is a normal, girl next door - American girl, until the murder of her older sister, Alina, in Dublin that changes it all. Needing answers, she goes to Dublin. I wasn't a big fan of this book. It was a bit slow moving for me. I wanted more chemisrty between Jericho and Mac and more suspense. I'll check out the next book to see if it gets better.

Listening to audiobook. So far so good.

Still a great read the second time around. I'd forgotten about Mac's funny side comments, so had a few good laughs mixed in with the darker aspects.

the characters are okay, but the writing is jumpy. Sometimes she's (Mac) talking to you, other times it's the story. The big issue I have is that one of the main characters name is spelled differently. Sometimes it's Barrens other times it's Barrons, even on the same page. I've read that this first book is so so, but the series gets better, so I will continue.

I am giving this book 4.5 stars. I was happily surprised by this book. I started the first chapters of it and hated Mac and her snooty attitude, but as the chapters went on and she arrived in Dublin there was tons of interest added and she became someone I wanted to read about. It definitely was a beginning of a series that I am really excited to continue.
