It pains me to say this but this book was *just ok* for me. I've had this on my TBR since forever! I will admit to my ignorance and say I didn't pick it up sooner because I always thought the series was YA, so it kept getting pushed back. Then someone explained to me that it's UF and it sparked my interest again.
So when we created the UTC Immortal Reading Challenge it seemed like it was finally time to read it as my fae books.

Now I finally realized Karen Marie Moning is on the New York Times Bestseller List! She is one of those authors that just blow you away with their writing that you come back hungry for more and more. I got tired of hearing about how much she loved pink, her nails, what she was wearing, etc. I wanted to s ...more

One of the best books that I have read this year. The story is organic, branching off in many directions, giving the characters room to grow and struggle. The characters are interesting and intriguing, sometimes mysterious (Barrons!) and it leaves you wanting more. I couldn't put this book down and I was shocked to realize how long I had avoided reading it.
Just overall a fun, mysterous read! I can't wait until the second book arrives to continue on with the series! ...more
