This is a nice little story from the Soul Screamers series. I have not yet had a chance to read that series, but I think I will now look into it.
Tod and his brother Nash are in a car accident. Nash dies. Tod makes a deal with the reaper and switches places with his brother. However, instead of dying, the reaper makes a deal with Tod. Tod is given the choice to become a reaper.
