THis was terrible. Part of it was that the narrator was really awful. Her inflection and emphasis was really odd and hearing her made me listen more carefully to the words to figure out what was happening. That made me realize how simple and trite the phrasing was and how cheesy.

Madeline Black's story continues, and while it's full of action and twists, I just didn't care about it all that much.

Madeline is tasked to act as an ambassador of Lucifer in the fairy lands and, being far from diplomatic, she isn't exactly perfect for the role. Regardless, she does her best and manages to partially succeed in her mission, while almost dying several times.

Her adventures continue in Black Howl, which I'm not sure if I will read.
