Considering that I didn't like Pack Challenge, the 1st book in the series, very much, I approached this book with some "apprehension". But I was willing to give Ms. Laurenston another chance, so I kept my mind open. Well... I'm glad I did, because I really enjoyed reading this funny - and sometimes downright hilarious - story.

Shelly earned herself another fan with this sequel to the Magnus Pack series. You know those stories where you want to slap the female lead for being stupid, selfish, absurd, etc., etc.? Well, this isn't one of those. Miki is a character that has real problems, real concerns, and as a reader you actually care about her. Conall, Zach's best friend from the first book who's ridiculously smitten with Miki, is portrayed with depth and sympathy. A giant, modern-day descendant of Viking werewolf who's

Nothing more and nothing less than expected. Fun characters, bad guys that exist only so our good guys can prove points, minimal plot and lots of smart ass comments. A featherlight read that made me smile a little and let me save my brain power for my projects and upcoming exams, while providing me with a fun story to relax with. Again, the cover sucks - too sloppy for my taste.

I did not read the first book of this series, so the characters were pretty much set bt I was so annoyed by the heroine's character in the beginning. I loved that she was smart as a whip, a geek and able to take care of herself. At least she admitted she was mean, that is what I could not deal with in the beginning (why so hateful?). She grew on me though.

This series is SOOOO snarky! I loved how Miki was a short human female and yet terrified all the huge shifters around her except Conall, and he was just turned on by her. Their relationship was funny and so was the whole hyena battle - my only problem was that no answer was ever given as to why the hyenas were after her in the first place.

***3.5***
These books are cute, fast, funny reads that I definitely enjoy. They don't have much depth, though - just two leads who snipe at each other despite the insta-attraction that shapeshifter romance is generally filled with. There's not a whole lot going on other than the romance - other plot details are sketched in, but they are a backdrop to the hero and heroine hooking up. Like, I have no idea who the hyenas are, why they took an interest in Miki, or why they seem to have a beef with .. ...more

Loved it
Spoilers... Maybe...?
It was cool to see Irene again. Liked Miki's friends as well. Heavy on the sex scenes which I loved.
Unsure about that epilogue but we'll see...
Yet another reread but I didn't remember much more than any of the last. It's cool to kind of get to read them for the first time... Again. ...more
