Honestly, I just adored this from beginning to end.

What ended up being the saving grace, here, was that A) this didn't last very long, and B) she didn't just pretend it didn't happen. Later, when they are talking, he tells her she can always be honest with him, and she's like can I, though? I mean, it doesn't feel like it, when you drag out my most vulnerable places in order to push me away.

Had she swept it under the rug just to be with him, I would have liked this book less. But they talked about it, and I feel like as this ended, they were a unit - a strong partnership who wouldn't pull bullshit like that anymore.

Really lovely book that I could barely put down. I'm hoping we get a follow up with Serena and Koen. ...more

My rating still stands. I still loved this book. I loved the relationship between Misery and Lowe just as much as I did the first time I read it.

I got Mate which is book 2 and I can't wait to read it.

I LOVED this book so much. I was needing another 5 star book and after I finished Gothikana I didn't think I would find another 5 star for awhile but I can't stop talking about this book to anyone who will listen to me ramble about it.

Well, this was a slow start that became compulsively readable. I didn't have much hope for the heroine at first and the narration was difficult to follow in the initial chapters. However, a little patience was definitely rewarded as the layers were slowly peeled back. The only thing I would have appreciated would have been a little more depth in the sociopolitical history and workings between the different species.
