Oh Yes!

There are series that you follow because you like them. The Kate Daniels series no matter what form or version is one to love.
This story is a kind of transition back to the reason that we love Kate and Curran. They are asked to assist a town taken over by an unknown entity. In the process they both recognize that they will never be the quiet domesticated family that they are trying to be. Another Kate Daniels book is always a reason for celebration. They are settling in the new area but of course get asked to rescue a town held hostage by something unknown in the forest

What I enjoyed:
* Love seeing Kate, Curran and Conlan interactions
* Also getting Curran's POV
* It seems to be setting up plenty of books to follow (view spoiler)

I loved going back to the original cadence of the Kate and Curran narrative, with all the fun and impossible situations Kate gets them into. I wished it were longer, but still enjoyed the short novella while it lasted!
