Well, that was a lot of fun. Be patient through the first 30% or so, there's a lot of pieces to set up. But it is worth it. I can't wait to see where it goes from here!

Lots of world building and character development in the beginning which made for a slow start, but once things got moving they flewwwwww. I really enjoyed the story of Vesper and Kryion. I'm glad I waited till closer to the release of book 2, Only Good Enemies, later this month.

Vesper is trying to do the right thing when she reports that a ship crash was due to a design issue. This leads to her finding herself on a spaceship as cannon fodder in a war. As the title states, she tends to have only bad options.
FYI, this is told from viewpoints of both Vesper and Kyrian
What I enjoyed:
* I really liked Vesper. She calls herself a lab rat and seems to be able to fix almost anything. Her psoinic powers helping her out here. She is loyal to friends and don't get her mad.

Vesper and Kyrion
As a lab rat who could fix anything Vesper’s genius was stolen by her boss Conrad. He was also her ex boyfriend.
She got mixed up in Regal wars, bonded to an Arrow, whom she saved, and spent most of her time fixing things around his castle.
I so enjoyed Vesper! She grew into her abilities and strength and was able to outsmart most everyone.

First book in what looks to be a fabulous series.
Vesper Quill, lab rat in the R&D lab Kent Corp, thinks she can only fix broken things, and figure out how things work. A limited seer. Angry.
Kyrion Caldaren, Lead Arrow of the Imperium, warrior, arrogant, Angry.
Holloway, the Ruler of the Imperium, just like in Star Wars, a real baddie. Greedy.
This first book sets up a wonderful sci-fi rom fest. Lots of planets, ways of living, desperate people, greedy people, rich & greedy people, magic people, ma ...more
