This book is a solid 4 stars.
Evie is in all appearances a human girl. Only thing is she can see past all the glamours of the paranormal. Vampires are not attractive underneath but are rotted. Werewolves really have yellow eyes. After spending most of her life hunting down the paranormal and putting them under surveillance with the IPCA (International Paranormal Containment Agency), she has never quite felt anything but alone and wants nothing but a normal life. I had high expectations for this book but it wasn't bad but it wasn't fantastic either. I don't see the chemistry between Evie and Lend. I think she likes him because he's different like her and that makes it exciting. I found myself looking forward to the scenes when Reth would show up. He was so dangerous and sexy.

So...how awesome that the first thing I do for winter break is read this book? Pretty darn awesome. I loved this book, it was good and I could kinda (i don't hunt paranormals but still) relate to Evie. I love Lend but I also love Reth. no contest Lend but still. I can't wait to read the next book

okay! That book was so BLEEPING AWESOME! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Evie is such a cool girl! And Lend us such a sweet <3 I adore him! And such an original story! I have book 2 on my Nook Color and think I shall start NOW!

The first part felt like a MIB/Sanctuary mashup, but it was trying too hard for the humor. Which is a shame. If it had succeeded, it would have been fantastic.

Is good, not one of the greats but that could be said with any books.
