What Members Thought

The BDB series comes so highly recommended but I just handn't manage to get to it til now. It was pretty much what I was expecting, not that that is a bad thing, but I'm more a UF than PNR girl. I did get involved in the story though, I was three quarters through at 2am and had to force myself to put it down to get some sleep. It's hard to resist all those bad boys with hard bodies - but lets just say my dreams were sweet:)

I guess one could call this a classic paranormal romance...back from the days of flipper cell phones and calling a cab rather than an Uber.
A fun read if you like this genre, which I do! So much so, in fact, that I put all my reading challenges challenge aside again and jumped into the next book in the series, Lover Eternal. I was not feeling well (side-effects of my second dose of COVID vaccine) and I needed comfort, which for some reason I always get from sexy vampires. If that's wrong, I don' ...more

This is Based on Wrath and Beth's Story.
OK so it tool me a while to figure out that wrath was blind.
and i kept getting annoyed with the whole Mr X bits.
Overall this book was really good. i skimmed through the who Mr X recruitment thing...I felt it wasn't all that relevant, until later in the book(i had an "AH! so that's why!" moment), but i still don't regret skimming through those bits.
vey hot in places. i loved the awkwardness of butch lol. ...more

My first time reading this book I was blown away by the story and the characters and the realism. I quickly read through the rest of the entire series before coming up for air. After having been away from these books for many months, and re-reading the first book now, I can can still say that all those reviews that think this book is better than the second coming...they're right.

Upon re-read it's still the dialogue that gets me with this series. I don't expect it to be all doom and gloom, but the oddly adolescent jibes don't mesh or provide the comic relief that it seems the author is going for at times. Also there is one scene that uses paint rollers to describe the definition in the character's abs that was also so specific and unappealing that it was kind of funny to read.
