Book 4 in the Peter Grant urban fantasy series set in London and surrounds. This book is surprisingly slow paced right up until about 80% when the shit hits the fan in a big way. Peter, Lesley and Nightingale are investigating some gruesome magic-related murders they believe are related to their nemesis, the Faceless Man. A great entry to this series, I immediately cracked open the next one.

A lot of things happen in this book, and a lot of the overreaching plot is developed, but as per usual what shines in this book it's the utter "Londonness" of it. The council flats, the multiculturism, the old history baked into the bricks, the snark, and most of all that lived in deep feeling of hope that something better will come but that a lot of shit will have to happen between here are there.
