Mercy remains one of my favorite UF heroines. I love her and Adam together as well (and admit I got a little teary eyed at the wedding). I enjoyed most of this book and liked the introduction of the animal spirits into Mercy's world. However, it felt like something was missing. Maybe the pack interaction? A minor quibble with a totally fun and enjoyable read.

I gave this book 3 and a half stars. First I really like this series. However, this book was a bit disappointing. There was one aspect that I really love about this book and that is Adam's and Mercy's relationship. I found the stories of the native American myths interesting. But at times it was just to much information. There was a lot of world building in this book. At times I felt like I was back in college in a native American studies class. LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!
I cried at the end. This book was the first of the year that I've read that reduced me to happy tears.
I went through the other 5 in about a week or so sometime in late January.
I love how Patricia Briggs doesn't beat around the bush with her characters.
I really wish I could give this book 10 stars, not 5.
So in love with it.
My only fault is the bits of fade to black love scenes. At least one may have been nice.
I so love Adam. Sigh. lol ...more

I really like the audiobook version, narrator does excellent read. This was one of the better installments (they are all good) of Mercy. I particularly liked seeing more of Mercy and Adam together as a couple. Looking forward to the next Mercy book.
