Before you read this book, it is highly recommended that you read the short story Alpha & Omega: A Companion Novella to Cry Wolf or On the Prowl. Otherwise, it will feel like three chapters are missing at the beginning of the book.

I wanted to reread this book today but I realised I’ve reread it so many times that I remember too many details now. Does anyone else sometimes wish for a small amount of memory loss so they could enjoy their favorite books as if for the first time?😂

Cry Wolf is the story of Anna and Charles. They are both werewolves. Anna was attacked 3 years ago and become a werewolf. She's an Omega wolf, one that have traces of both dominant and submissive wolves. She also has the power of calming them down. However, the first pack she was introduced to instead of protect, respect, and revere for her, they abused, tortured and tried to break her. That's when Charles got in. He sa ...more

Was totally left hanging and wanting more with On The Prowl where these characters were introduced. So I dove into this book with a hunger I imagine appropriate for a werewolf story. The intimate relationship of Charles and Anna would seem to take a back seat to the more exciting adventure they take part in, but really it does not. It grows with the book as it needed to and should have. I really appreciated that part. I also absolutely loved their adventure, the leading up to it with Asil's back

3.5 This book was okay for me. I think part of the reason was that I read it after Dark Lover (tough act to follow).
I hope the second book is better.

Very Mercy Thompson with a less Alpha female lead character.
I kinda like it but not so much, I'm not sure why... the bad girl didn't help at all (not scary, like Marissa, at all) and, as usual, Briggs goes around and around and around the problem so much that it gets annoying, and then it's all solved in the last 10 pages.
I did like that I got to know more about Bran and the Montana pack, they're Mercy's family and she usually talks about them but we have no idea what she's talking about... I al ...more

This book is quite a mess.
Although I will give to it, that there are a lot of female characters. But Anna's feel more like a doormat than an actual person and the adolescent angst is really off tone compared with what happened to her, but I guess we should all want to become werewolfs, because apparently they get over sexual abuse as fast as they do any physical injury. Man, is awesome to be a werewolf.
Also it has this on it "she smiled a cynical smile. A whore's smile"
Awesomesauce.
