I loved the characters there are so many great ones in this series. One of my favorite characters was definitely Madame Lefoux she was so intelligent and funny. Another interesting part of the series is the descriptions of the gadgets and technology of their world. There was so much going on I really enjoyed trying to figure out the mystery and culprits motives. The ending was such a surprise to me I must find out what happens next.
Why did I not read this sooner? Everyone seemed to dislike the ending, but I absolutely loved it. I can't wait to read the next book.
Lady Woolsey, Alexia, is now happily married to her Scottish werewolf, Lord Woolsey. Things are going well until they discover that something is making supernaturals loose their supernatural state. Oh the humanity of it all. *chuckle* With Alexia's preternatural/soul sucking dispositions fingers start to point her way. Her husband still hasn't quite gotten the hang ...more

Another entertaining book in The Parasol Protectorate series, and this time without the aspects of the final chapter in the first book that felt so jarring and out of place.
I found the story's mystery entertaining and enjoyed getting to know more of Connall's past and meeting his former pack. I like that she was able to weave Lord Akeldama into the story, even though the bulk of it takes place outside of London.

I am absolutely in love with Gail Carriger's writing and characters. What absolute fun. Alexia makes a fabulous heroine and the british humour just about kills me. The story premise is not so original but who cares its super fresh.. with the whole british era thing going. Prof Lyall, Ivy, Floot are all a hoot! I love the dialogues.. esp the one's uttered extreme duress.. and for changeless I loved the ending..I was kinda suspecting that Alexia was "in a condition"..so it wasn't so unexpected but

Please have a seat and a cup of tea. This book was a bit longer than the first, but it didn't lack in action, wit, and interesting bits. I do have to say though that Lord Alkeldama's absence had me bereft until his correspondence was received. This character is now a new favorite, and I appreciate his type of humor.
