Great book. I love Grier, I really like Linus, and I also really like Boaz. This may be the only love triangle that I have ever read that doesn't irritate me, because I don't feel like there's an obvious choice.

This book had some real heartbreaks - (view spoiler) - but it was such a good journey.

How to Claim an Undead Soul picks up soon after the events of How to Save an Undead Life and Grier finds herself with an unexpected guest and teacher, a resource as valuable as any book.

I was a phoenix thrashing in the ashes of my old life, aching to rise again, to soar one last time, but the cycle exhausted me.

She's trying to get her old job back after her absence and is turned down. Luckily, with help from a friend, she's able to get a similar job working on a haunted riverboat. She's trying to get her old job back after her absence and is turned down. Luckily, with help from a friend, she's able to get a similar job working on a haunted riverboat. While helping to renovate the boat, she meets the ghost responsible for scaring off others; he's more powerful than he should be. Also, vampires are turning up deader than dead and other spirits around Savannah have vanished. Grier tries to find the reason(s) behind all of this and, in the middle of all of that, she's stalked by yet another unusual supernatural.

I have so enjoyed this series so far. I like all of the side characters, no matter how small their part, and I love Grier. She has such a big heart. She's suffered, that much is obvious even if we're not aware of exactly how she suffered, but despite that or in spite of that, she pushes on to do whatever she must to protect herself and those she cares for no matter the personal cost. She's slowly learning more about herself, her abilities and her mother. There's still a lot left to learn or discover and she's showing no signs of stopping.
