Boy oh boy was I excited for this book. I devoured it and it was amazing. A great story again. Overall an engaging plot and I'm here for all the angst and romance. My only problem would be with some consistency errors it does get confusing in some areas but not enough to distract from the book. That's the main reason it's 4 and not 5 stars. Is mankind worth redeeming? Enemies to lovers. Conflict. Forgiveness. Forced proximity. War. Death. Surrender. Love. Redemption. My favorite in the series so far. War is my new book boyfriend!

Holy moly.

Jason Momoa is my War, thankyouverymuch.

Also, I found that this book, much like Pestilence, was one that was hard to read at times. But I also couldn't stop reading it. (obviously. Because I started reading it at like 8 pm and finished reading it at 1:47 am.) It deals with some serious stuff, and Laura doesn't shy away from tough subjects.

But it also shows that people aren't always as bad (or good) as they seem, and everyone has layers, and people CAN change for the better.

If an AI wrote romance, this’d be it. The classic archetypes are there with a nice premise but the progression is too artificial.
The emotional aspects didn’t come alive properly. I liked the characters though.
