Before reading this book I thought the Mongolian steppes were like this:
Now I realize they can also be like this:
Animals of the Mongolian Steppe
Short legged camels.
Or a link for a closer look at camels and dogs (I love dogs!) with their owners.
Mongolian yak.
Short legged horses.
And a link entitled eagle hunter.
Another link to plain mongole and last, but not least, a good Sheppard and his angora goat.
Going through book, starting with Chapter 5.

3.5*
I liked that this was set somewhere different (in this case Mongolia). I enjoyed Thalia and the fact that she was not TSTL. I loved that she was able to save herself at the end of the book. I would have liked to have had less staring/watching/looking between Thalia and Gabriel. I also thought Gabriel was too focused on how unconventional Thalia was. The first half of the book was a bit slow going. Once they found the Source it picked up. The end of the book packed a punch and made up for the ...more

4.5 stars. Love it. This is like Indie Jones plus Lara Croft. Though, it took me a long time to read -- got interupted by Irene/power out al all -- but finally finished. Zoe Archer rocks. Moving on to the next book.
Oops! how could I forget....to mention THE chapter 13. Hot!!!
