But you can’t just erase the past. My Soul to Steal, the fourth Soul Screamers novel, focuses on what it takes to move forward. The goal alone is tough to attain, but add in the catalyst of Nash’s first love arriving in town to make Kaylee all the more insecure.

My Soul to Steal (Soul Screamers #4)Forgiveness and acceptance are hard fought, but letting go of the fears is much harder when every night deep-seated terrors of being lost, unwanted, betrayed and unworthy fill Kaylee’s dreams. And Sabine, Nash’s ex-girlfriend and living nightmare, is happy to fuel them.

Sabine quickly makes it plain to Kaylee she plans on taking Nash back by any means necessary, and she has no problem playing on their fractured trust and Kaylee’s fears for the future. Sabine also has no problem throwing her sexuality around and making obvious plays for Nash.

Nash only has eyes for Kaylee. (Which pleases us immensely.) She may be battling her inability to trust him, but he’s at war with his guilt and offering any supplication to regain what he’s lost with her. (Tod backs Kaylee on this one, and is his usual wonderful reaper self.)

In typical Rachel Vincent fashion, My Soul to Steal will spark frustration at the characters and you’ll hate as you start to sympathize with Sabine. While there is action in this Soul Screamers novel, the main focus is the internal war raging within our banshee couple. Can they overcome their fears? Can they both grow and stay a couple? Kaylee is working on forgiving Nash, and she better decide quick as Nash's ex shows up ready to do anything to get him back.

What I enjoyed:
* Catching up on the characters.
* Tod.
* Kaylee, she had a bit of tunnel vision in this book, but she is still someone I'd want on my side.
* Nash.

What could have been better:
* For someone supposedly so protective, Kaylee's dad is rarely around and doesn't seem to know what is going on with her.

I have been having a hard time getting into Y.A. for a while now, but there a couple book series that just I can help but love and look forward to each and every installment. Rachel Vincent’s Soul Screamers series is definitely one of them.

I have been having a hard time getting into Y.A. for a while now, but there a couple book series that just I can help but love and look forward to each and every installment. Rachel Vincent’s Soul Screamers series is definitely one of them.

First of all, Rachel sets herself off the pack because she has created such an original world that you can’t help but feel fascinated by it. Secondly, she write very real characters and escapes the cliché traps that a lot of authors fall victim of in the Paranormal Y.A. genre.

Kaylee is a very strong and independent heroine. She has been lied to, betrayed, hunted and almost killed; one might call her a victim, but I call her a survivor that has no intention of letting her circumstances dictate her life. Is she perfect? Of course not, she has no idea what to do at times and she can be very naive sometimes, but she is strong, determined and honorable.

I love how much Kaylee has evolved throughout the series, her ordeal in My Soul To Keep was grueling and most teenage girl might have succumbed to depression, but never Kaylee.

In My Soul To Keep Her boyfriend, fellow bean sidhe (banshee) Nash kept a horrible secret from her and hurt her deeply, now in My Soul To Steal, Kaylee needs to deal with the consequences and decide if their love is worth fighting for. But when Nash’s ex-girlfriend transfer to their school, everything seems to go haywire, even her chance of a happily ever after with the boy she loves.

Even though My Soul To Steal has considerably less action than My Soul To Keep, this latest installment has left nothing to be desired. A powerful novel in on itself, My Soul To Steal deals with themes very much present in teenagers lives like love, betrayal, lust; while also delving into the fantastical world of supernatural creatures and monsters.

Another great addition to an already amazing series! Rachel Vincent does it again and I can’t wait for more! If you love reading Paranormal YA novels, you should absolutely check out this wonderful series. ...more

*BEWARE THERE ARE SOME SLIGHT SPOILERS!!*
Alright so I'm giving this book a 3.9 because of a few reasons, I thought it was great but a few things really irritated me... First of all Sabine, oh sabine how wonderful you are not, she is the most infuriating character I have ever had the plasure of reading (?) -- and yes I have read twilight. She is just so so stubborn and cannot take no for an answer! Also kaylee and Nash -- there predicament is interesting and definitely something to get excited ...more

I'm not sure this one deserves 4 stars but I'm going to round up anyways. Even though Kaylee drove me pretty crazy with her jealously and shrew attitude. I spent most of the book wanting to smack her. :/ Hopfully this doesn't continue in the next book. ...more
