Although Halfway to the Grave is one of the highest-recommended paranormal series out there, its incessant slut-shaming does not stand the test of time.
Catherine is a rare creature: a half-vampire, half-human twenty-two year old. She has sworn to kill all vampires after one of them abused her mother. She hunts on her own, until she meets Bones: a vampire bounty hunter who might be able to give her her revenge.

A fun and entertaining vampire themed book. Cat and Bones have a great chemistry in this, I love how he pretty much begs for her love, but she hates vampires with a passion so it will not be easy. And there’s actually a story besides de romantic drama in Halfway to Grave, and it regards a scheme of human trafficking led by some nasty and quite powerful vampires. The end is kind of a turnoff, especially because I don’t plan to read the next books in this series, but I sure can imagine it ends up

This book is about a young lady named, Cat Crawford, a half-vampire, who hunts full vampires. Typically, she goes and 'picks-up' a vampire, lures him away to kill him. Only one night, she picks up the wrong vampire. Bring in Bones. Bones is a vampire bounty hunter of sorts, who offers (or demands) Cat the chance to better herself, by training with him. She gets better at killing vampires, but, she has to work for him.

I really love this series. Bones is just about the studliest vamp ever. Cat straight-up kicks butt. There's fun and witty dialogue, a lot of vampire killing action, etc.
My memory must really be going though, because I so did not remember this first book being so...steamy, reading parts of it may have made me blush a little, lol.

Really got into this book. The main character, Cat's, struggle between being half human and half vampire was pretty interesting. The fact that she also has a huge choice that involves sacrifice at the end was excellent.

This book was awesome and I read the whole book in one day. The story was so enthralling that I couldn't put it down. I just love Bones and I love how strong and kick-ass Cat is except when it comes to her mother. I feel sorry for her mother for what happen to her but I just can't stand her. I felt so bad for both Cat and Bones at the end. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I think this is the best 1st in a series book I've ever read.

This was a different view on vampires that I haven't read. I really like the main characters Bones and Cat. Their story is an interesting one. I am looking forward to reading the next one.
