If you're starting to read this book and begin to grit your teeth and find Cat annoying, and her mother irritating, and you're contemplating giving up...wait. Keep reading.
As with many series nowadays, this first book suffers from a trite and disjointed beginning. But, as soon as the character Bones comes on the scene, Frost's story gains clarity and momentum. It's as if Bones was just what both the heroine and the author needed to find purpose. From his introduction, we have a fast-paced story ...more

This book should come with a warning label: do not read while driving, operating heavy machinery, or on a ten minute break at work! Seriously. When our heroine and her gorgeous vampire beau finally have their big consummation, I was between classes and practically needed a defibrillator before I could face my second-period students.
In fact, that was a problem. Cat and Bones are very endearing, and their passion for each other is contagious. To be blunt (and I usually am!) I wanted a few more Goo ...more

After reading the second book in this series first and utterly loving it, I just had to read the others. So I bought this, and it did not disappoint at all. No one has ever heard of someone who is technically half dead. When at age 16 she finds out how she came about she takes matters in her own hands and dec ...more

First in the "Night Huntress" series and fast-paced like whoa! Cat definitely kicks major butt, literally and figuratively. I love that despite her insecurities, she's strong-willed and when she decides she wants something, she goes after it. I also love her relationship with Bones, which is a relationship of two equals.
The book is full of blood and gore, but it's also very funny and incredibly sexy. It's definitely not for kids though, it's more mature - with foul language and graphic sex scene ...more
