So I go and pick up this book, I'm pumped. So very excited to be getting back to Sookie and Eric ( wipes drool off my chin). So picture if you will, I have the bottle of red open. I am all cozy and set to read. I stop and go "hmmm". Shake it off as the normal okay we are at the start of the book lets recap for those who might not remember.
So I take some more sips and continue on. Stopping yet again, I go "hmm, um, yeah". We are hitting somewhere past the 100 mark and I'm getting a little worrie ...more

Yes I like all the stuff that went on. And I don't like Sookie and Eric together. While Eric is sexy, he isn't a good vampire. Sookie needs someone good and decent like she is. And not Bill either! More along the lines of Sam. I wonder what Claude's reason for being around Sookie so much is. He might know she has a c.d.
So much happened and I loved it all. I can't wait to see what happens next. And I also can't wait for Season 4 of True Blood! ...more

Only two more Sookie books after this. I’d forgotten that when I first sat down to read, but the knowledge does put my complaints into perspective.
Even though a fair amount happened in Dead Reckoning, the pacing was often stilted and jerky. Charlaine Harris is very obviously prepping for the end - repositioning characters and tying up loose ends - and some of her choices could be described as convenient. I’m not left with the feeling that a grand plan is finally unfolding. Instead, I fear that ...more

Worst book in the series. I don't understand what happened, the series started out with great writing and lovable characters. All of the characters feel very different in this book, there is none of the authors usual gusto. Everything feels flat. I couldn't really get into the story as there was nothing to get into. The book is a bunch of semi tangential scenes thrown together.

This wasn't the best outing in the Sookieverse for me; it actually fell a bit flat. I still enjoyed visiting the Bon Temps clan but it seems like the storylines are starting to wind down. Sookie and Eric didn't have that sizzle between them in this book. I've been Team Sam from the get go, but always thought it was a long shot. Now I'm not sure if it's really as long as it seemed.

Reading this book felt like catching up with a friend you haven't seen in a while. It felt familiar and cozy. Not too exciting, but exciting enough to keep you reading on.
I enjoyed it and I liked learning more about Sookie and her abilities. Her life is getting more and more complicated and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes her next. ...more

I'm still enjoying this series, Sookie does have a lot going on in her life, and I hope we get some more resolution soon. Hunter is so cute, I hope he does okay at school.
