Too many pages, way too much explanation, too many characters, too much gore… just TOO MUCH!
I loathe Strike and Leah, I’m pretty sure they’re bi-polar, their love story was silly and most of the time didn’t make sense at all. I usually try to give a new series at least a three book chance but I don’t think this one will be worth the time.

Ok... This was a pretty good book.. I'm only giving it three stars because of the convoluted plot: I was expecting more romance, but this read more as a simple paranormal to me, with a dash of romance thrown in.

This was a very good story. However it gets very bogged down in details.There was too much "telling" the story and not enough "showing". I constantly found myself getting bored with this book and daydreaming. When the author focused on the CHARACTERS the book was very good. I am very hopeful that the next book will move at a quicker faster pace.

The writing is unfocused and jumps between points of view, varying between dizzying information overload and dry, boring lecture-mode. The romance is uneven at best rushed at the beginning and rushed at the end and zilch in-between. Relies too much on tell rather than show and digs in trying to get readers interested in the others with no discernible reason other than trying to encourage people to buy other books in the series.
