This was almost a three for me. The Mayan words for things were getting me confused with good/bad things. There's a lot of characters to keep track of, and usually it was fine, however I didn't remember meeting Michael or Jade.
It was a refreshing paranormal. I really liked the world and the secondary characters. Not sure how I felt about the main characters though. I will definitely keep reading the series though. ...more

I really enjoyed this book. With all the movies about 2012 coming out, I was interested to see how it would be incorporated into a sup book. I liked the characters, enjoyed learning about their back stories and seeing how they all came together to try to fight back to the upcoming evil. I'm also extremely happy that the next 2 books (Dawnkeepers & Skykeepers) are already available. Such a nice treat when I find something I like and don't have to wait a year to read the next book.

This is the first book in a new series based on the Mayan belief that the world will end in 2012, on the Winter solstice. It’s labeled as a romance, but if you like your hero and heroine to spend most of the book together, and be the focal point of the story, this may not work for you.

Took a while to get into this book. There were so many characters and a lot of mythology to get my head around, but once I got all that sorted I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the rest.
