Although I enjoyed reading about William and Cerice, liked them both as characters and liked big parts of the book, I found it really hard to get into the story.
I listened to the audiobook version and it didn't really do it for me, whether it was the accents or the way the narrator emphasized parts that didn't need emphasizing, or her interpretations of certain characters, it failed to draw me into the story. Although I'm quite a fan of Andrews' Kate Daniels series, the first book I read from the duo was One the Edge. That first impression was enough to keep me reading their books. After I found out they planned to write William's story next, I was really looking forward to seeing what kind of new and interesting places and characters they have an amazing ability to create.
