A Questionable Client- Ilona Andrews (Kate Daniels, 0.5)
Andrews always reminds me why I like short stories. This story rewinds us back before the series even began. She intrigues us with mystery of Kate's past, and gives us a dash of comedy on how Kate and Saimen meet.

Even Hand- Jim Butcher (Dresden Files)
This story follows Gentleman John Marcone. I wasn't very gung-hoe on this story like I usually am with Butcher's work. It seemed very unlike his usual style. I'm Dark and Stormy Knights Review

The Beacon- Shannon K. Butcher
Now this is a gem of a writer. I have never read anything by this author before. Her and Jim share a very similar writing style; writing on a very descriptive linear style. The best example I can give is that you get your descriptions as you go along the plot, so if something seems irrelevant; think again. Your getting set up for clues.

Even A Rabbit will Bite-Rachel Caine
I usually don't like to read Rachel Caine, but I think that I just may give her another chance after this story. It was clearly filled with awesomeness, and is a perfect example of the word ironic. Also it is a perfect example of Karma doing her job.

God's Creatures- Carrie Vaughn (Kitty Norville)
I've kept up with this series from about the time that book 5 had just been released, and I was a little disappointed with this short story. I don't know why I just really really like Cormac, and feel that he has been jipped by his own cousin. It was interesting to read a story from his perspective, and the story-line was acceptable. What I wonder, is if the character introduced in this story will be fully inducted into the series?

There are a few other short stories that were fairly decent, but didn't make much of an impact. I'm eagerly looking for some of their work now though.Dark Lady- P.N.
