How is it that I hadn't reviewed this yet? *auuuurrrgggg*
Most of this book I had the feeling of being ripped off!
I did somewhat like this plot and the possibility it could have brought to the series. One thing that I don't think helped Harris in particular, and probably even threw her off is that True Blood took a life of it's own. The possibility of Eric's maker still out there, and the pressure to off him as quickly as possible wasn't the best way of going about things. By far this was a v ...more

Disappointing. The themes running through this book match the title completely, everyone had a story related to these themes - it was almost as if this book was a collection of short stories put together and delivered as a novel. The action was lacking, the fear coming from Eric led me to believe his master was the one to be afraid of - a complete misdirection which was unsatisfying.

I love the Sookie Stackhouse series. It never gets old for me. I'm thrilled Eric and Sookie are finally together. Go team Eric;)

There are a lot going on this book that are open to limitless possibilities for plots on the next book. It wasn't as engaging as before. It feels like the author has started up again so she could have even more books in this series.
I still like it. But I'm a romantic and there isn't much romance in this one. Three stars because I still get to finish it and Eric is still here. He's just not as devious as he used to be. ...more

I loved this book. I just finished Rachel Vincent's Shift which I also loved. But Charlaine Harris' book is such a feel good book. It ends on a positive note. While Rachel Vincent is adventure and never a dull moment in that book, Charlaine Harris is light and romantic with a touch of adventure and drama to keep it interesting. I'm thinking like the Jan Karon of the vampire world. She might be my favorite.
