I've been a fan of Charlaine Harris for many years and I've always looked forward to reading her books. Like every year I was jumping up and down with excitement to read her next installment of Sookie Stackhouse.
After two days, I finished the book and I felt very unsatisfied. Not the "OMG... I can't wait until the next book" unsatisfied but the "Hmmm.. maybe it's time to end the series" unsatisfied. I felt bored while reading and that never happened before. Why? I have no idea. It had all the m ...more

Generally I do like this series, but this book seemed a bit off to me. The characters did not feel same, e.g. Eric was a pansy. I was really looking forward to this book but there was no connection between sookie and eric. I also found the plot to be very weak, at times I wasn't sure what had actually happened. Overall this was a big let down for me, the characters and setting are all there to use, how could the author have gotten this book so wrong?

Story was ok; didn't seem to take the series any further as nothing 'big' happened. There was no one big plot or turning event to take place. Eric and Sookie were together, but I missed much of the conversation between them, it seemed to be missing from this book.
