Why, oh why had I been so worried?
Displeased with Sookie’s attitude and the overall plot of Dead and Gone, I was reluctant to start Dead in the Family. Concern that the series had finally lost its luster made me hold off. I was a fool.

Better than the last one, imo, this one left me feeling a bit better at the end. I like that Sookie's problems aren't cut and paste and they don't end with the last page. She has to face that she can't please everyone and that enemies can come from many different quarters. Her principles aren't what many (if any) vampires live by, yet she seems to become more and more entrenched with them. I liked following this train of thought with the narrative of the book.

I loved it! Why because so much family stuff happens! I bet you can't wait to read it too.

I think I devoured this book, I thought it was great.

I feel pretty lukewarm about this Sookie installment.
Picking up pretty much from where the last book ended, Sookie is trying to recover from the torture she had experienced and dealing with the loss of several people. In this story, we get vampire, weres and fae stories woven throughout the storyline, but it feels like a filler before the next book. Pretty meandering, in my opinion.

Still a good book, just not one of the best in the series. Sookie is recovering from the events of the last book and I think that makes her a little more melancholy than normal. There a lot of things going on in this book and most of them get tied up pretty well by the end. I didn't really care for Eric's "family" and wasn't sad to see how that ended.

Liked it. A lot of loose-end-tying-up going on. Enjoyed meeting Erics maker, and I'm interested in Bills "sibling" and family, hope it works! I really like Claude, he makes me laugh.
