For an anthology this one was pretty good.
Whisper of Sin by Nalini Singh is Ria's story. Ria, a human admin assistant to Lucas Hunter, alpha of Darkriver pack. She first comes to the attention of Darkriver enforcers, particularly Emmett, after being attacked in pack territory by a group of human thugs trying to oust the changelings. Writing as always is excellent.
Blood & Roses by Angela Knight is not a Mageverse story, but still includes Vampires and is set in some distant past. Quite good.

I only read the pre-quel to The Iron Duke in this anthology by Brook. The 4 stars are for the Iron Seas. This is a great short, good character developmenet, great world building and a satisfying read. It is a good introduciton to the steampunk world of the Iron Duke.

As always, Nalini Singh's story was amazing... Unfortunately, the Angela Knight story wasn't really up my alley, although I have enjoyed her work in the past. My favorite part of this anthology, however, was finding 2 new-to-me authors to read far more work from in the very near future - Virginia Kantra and Meljean Brook.

I only read two of the four stories included.
Nalini Singh's Whisper of Sin 4/5 was a nice little foray into the Psy-Changeling series. Although good, it lacked the depth of her other books which is to be expected considering it was a short story,
Meljean Brook's Here There be Monsters 5/5 was excellent. I had never read steampunk before and wanted to give it a try and this story did not disappoint. It is a fantastic prequel to her new series. I cannot wait to read The Iron Duke. ...more

Sometimes anthologies are hit and miss. You may like one or two of the stories out of the 3 or 4 included by various authors. This anthology lives up to it's title Burning Up. I loved all of the stories included.
Nalini Singh stories never disappoint me. I loved Whisper of Sin is just as hot as any of her other Psy-Changeling stories.
Angela Knight's Blood and Roses was another treat. I have only read 2 stories by Ms. Knight and decided I must read more of them.

I love anthologies as you get to try new authors and series. I love the Psy-Changeling series and this was a nice little short set early in the series. I do love big cats!
Angela Knight's tale was a darker look at the vampire mythology, I liked it but it wasn't my favourite story.
Virginia Kantra's tale is set in her Selkie world and I really like this series, it was nice to revisit the mythology. This novella is set long before the series but it was still enjoyable.

One of the best anthologies I've read in awhile (with the exception of Angela Knight's story). Goodreads has the Psy-Changeling story as #8.5, but I think, chronologically, this one had the feel of a prequel. However, it really could be read anytime. Virginia Kantra's story kicks off another story arc. Meljean Brock's gives a peek at a fascinating new series.

1.- Whisper Of Sin (Nalini Singh): 3/8 - 3/8 ***** Nice (as always), and I think it's the short story in this series I've liked it more.

Loved it. Wished the stories were longer. Found a new author to add to my to be read pile.
