Another time where I wish I could rate w/ 1/2 stars. This one was a tad better than 3 to me, but just not quite a 4. Kept me pretty interested throughout - liked the humor and following Celia's new "adjustments". It became a little, for lack of a better word, stupid toward the end. As if the author was just trying to tie up ends and create new leads for the next book. All in all, I will pick up the next one and hopefully be able to give that one a full 4 stars ;)! ...more

Not bad. I think it could be an interesting series. I would say it does not draw you in as much as the Laurel Hamilton books or Charlane Harris's writing, but it was not kiddish. It was clean, so far, by the way, although there really wasn't any romance to be otherwise in this first book. I got confused as to who some of the minor characters were and had to look back a couple of times. ...more

I just finished this today - and I'm not sure if I want 3 or 4 stars. Usually, I round up, but I just don't feel like this book merits a 'rounding up.' I'll have to sleep on it and then review it tomorrow and decide for sure if it is indeed 3 or 4 stars. ...more

Shelves: series, reviewed, vampires, 2011, paranormal, shifters

A fun ride in a unique and interesting world. Celia, our heroine finds her life changed and does whatever she can to keep up before she winds up dead.

The story's realistic, the characters flawed but not stupid, the mystery plausible and interesting to follow and there's promise of a lot more to come.
