Magic Bites on Books On Track

The 10th and last book of the series was just released, so I figured this was a great excuse to reread the whole series from beginning to end.

It's been many years by now since I read this first book, and I'd forgotten almost everything about it but how much I loved the characters. After the second time reading it, and knowing some of the crucial backstory, I found the book even better.

Kate sets out to find out her guardian's murderer and her investigation leads to he

I have started a lot of new series lately, but this one would have to be up there as one of my favourites. I will admit, I did have to work hard throughout the book to fully understand the world and the rules which applied within it, but Kate was just such a brilliant heroine that it was definitely worth the effort. Count me as a new fan for this series, I'm totally on-board. Kate is an engaging and realistic heroine. This is a gritty, urban paranormal drama that can laugh at itself, while still taking the genre to new heights. At this point, I have to admit that I've already finished the third in the series, Magic Strikes, so I'm writing this review rose-tint ...more

I equate this book to a television show you catch on a Saturday afternoon while flipping through the channels. You have no idea what's going on, but you watch anyway just to see what happens. Then it ends and you're interested in it enough to find out when it really comes on so you can watch the next episode.
I liked Kate. She was cool. I wasn't too thrilled about what happened between her and Crest. I don't blame her because he seemed too random to not have on ones radar as someone not to trust

I don't know why I'm so late to this series. I've read all of their other books. I love the action and world building these authors bring to their books. The narrator is excellent, too.
