What Members Thought
I rate this as a flat 3. There was so much potential yet a lot of the story felt bogged down with rather drawn out descriptors of the tarot card readings. I do love a tarot deck but I didn't feel the story needed as much as was written. On the positive side though - the darkness surrounding Tara and her story was great (I love a gory tale), as was the fact that her character was well educated, intelligent and mostly strong.

Intriguing topic and world; Williams seems knowledgable about Tarot. However the flow of words was a little rough, especially in the beginning. "Like a crushed beer can cast aside by a hungover god..." is an example of some of the disconcerting imagery used. Thankfully it disappeared after the first quarter of the book.
