Scent of Shadows has some intriguing ideas. The book pits comic book hero type characters in a battle between Light and Shadow using the symbols of the Zodiac. Each Zodiac sign has a corresponding fighter in both Light and Shadow. There is a prophecy that the Kairos will come, and the Shadow forces are hunting him or her down.

I honestly skipped through it from the middle to the end. I am told apparently that it is pretty usual to see raped female characters, I remember none other than Johanna and I forgot about it until I read some reviews. The problem with this book here is not it's predictability (which is no minor problem, but I know what I'm reading here) nor it's ingenuity in (but not only) making the rapist (spoiler) one of the evil shadows of the dark side (or something about as stupid), my problem with this b

This was a very good book. I would give it a 3 and 1/2 if i had the option. The trouble was it was a very slow starter.Once it gets moving its just fantastic. I almost gave up on it though, and can see how many people will. It was also a little long. But all in all very good and I am reading the next one now.
Intense and fast paced, from the first page to the last. Wonderful characters with an interesting plot that keeps you glued to the pages chapter after chapter. Filled with the spectrum of emotions, this book is superbly written! Can't wait to start the next novel!!
