Supernaturals are out of the closet but I have to stay hidden because of the type of magic I possess. I’m a Legacy. It sounds like the title should come with reverence, a trust fund, or at the very least a cool backstory—instead it comes with a death sentence.

I have to hide in plain sight and pretend to be just human. I’m pretty good at it. I live a simple and somewhat normal life, and I work in antique acquisitions. Everything’s going fine until a dangerous and enchanted dagger that was once in

(3.5 stars) This reminded me a little of Harper's 'Blood Destiny' series. I'm intrigued enough to move onto book 2. ...more

The heroine’s best friend Savannah is annoying. All she does is get into trouble and need rescuing.

The love interest is growing on me. Yes, he’s arrogant but the heroine can handle him so it isn’t completely off putting.

There’s issues with the writing but the plot and romance was good enough that I was able to move past that. Although it didn’t stop me from exclaiming “why?” and “huh?” sometimes.

DNF. Stopped at 47%. There was some decent world building and good characters but the plot was not moving. The author kept repeating the same scenes in different ways. I couldn’t force myself to finish it.
