To sum it up: The YA/NA vibe - the first person POV, the love triangle and the immaturity of some characters - didn't work for me and the many grammatical errors - you're/your, seen/seeing, etc. - were jarring, forcing me to reread sentences and ruining the flow of the story.

Given the title, I of course knew there would be sexism. It's why it took me awhile to read this, even though I love this author.
It's a button of mine. And I particularly hate the trend of what I call "it's okay because he's hot" - where FMCs cannot help their list over complete asshole MMCs who treat them like garbage.
This isn't exactly like that. There's some of it, but Sam(antha) does try to keep him at arm's length because he's a bag of shit. She's just not super successful at it.

The title Here Be Sexist Vampires accurately describes the vampires Sam Parker finds herself surrounded by when attending tryouts for the Grand High Master's private army/legion. She was invited and proves herself in excellent control of her abilities, yet she's not chosen ... not for the position originally suspected. She's so in control of her abilities that she's been chosen for a higher position, one that finds her working with the most arrogant Commander Jared Michaels.

This book was so good and just what I needed. Sam was an asskicking, whip wielding, bad as hell female vamp. Jared was an asshatish, sexy as hell, bad ass commander of the Grand Masters private army. Even though sparks fly between the two they but heads constantly. The world building was awesome and I loved Suzanne's take on Vampires. I am so glad this looks like it going to be a series because I can't wait to read more.

It was good for a while. Too many characters to mention. I was looking for more action. But to me the story screams romance than anything else. Didn't love it. Thought it was okay for a vampire book.
Sam and Jared are fine. Not too hot. And the strong-willed heroine have been played too frequent and none too successful in so many books I've read that this Sam fall short of my expectations (that is, Kate Daniels).
Not much to offer this one but not too boring either. ...more
