This was my first book by Laurenston, it certainly won't be my last as I loved it!
The prologue introduces you to the half-sisters as children, who even then were extremely resourceful and fearless. Charlie is the oldest and most stable. Max loves violence and doesn't care about much. Stevie is an adorable genius with many issues. The sense of family between them is great! This story was much more about them than Charlie and Berg.

There was a lot of humor and silliness in this book, which I really enjoyed! I loved the sisters and their way of interacting with each other, which is sometimes supportive and other times fighting and maiming one another. The cast of characters was fun and I loved the feeling of "found family" and community.
I think the only reason I didn't rate it higher was because I'm currently preoccupied with other things and I'm not in my usual "inhale books like air" reading mood. And with Hot and Badgere ...more

I was a little nervous going into this book because I really liked the Call of Crows Series and didn't want to be disappointed. Also, that title ... Hot & Badgered?! Like hot & bothered?? I thought that it was going to be a badger sex fest. Totally misleading. BUT ... I love the MacKilligan sisters! They had the same kinship and same amount of craziness as the crows.
