A secret government organisation, Sentry, has Seers, Slayers & Watchers who off Vampires that the public don't know exist. Until they do know and the public outcry sees Vampires pretty much get a free pass. So that puts a lot of people out of work.
Harper is a Seer, trying to make a go of being a PI, but finding it hard to get Police work as she's a woman, when she comes across a tall, broody Slayer, who finds it hard to stop hunting. Together they make a great team.
