3 1/5. I REALLY don't want to give it under a 4, because I love these characters, and I've never given one of these books lower than a 4. Even Phury's book got a 4 even though it wasn't up to the standard of the others. But The King was all over the place, and for the first time, I took ages to finish a Black Dagger brotherhood book, which is unusual for me. Don't get me wrong, this is my favourite series, and still is, just this one book wasn't to my taste. I found the sections on Wrath's fathe

Reading a new BDB is like hitting the trifecta of comfort. It's like I'm in my fave old sweats snuggled into an overstuffed chair with a mug of caramel macchiato and it feeds and nourishes my soul. Yeah, these characters feel like family so it feels like I'm coming home. Not all authors can do that so Ms. Ward is pretty special.

Really liked this one, not much fighting action, but plenty went on. Not choppy like the previous book was in spots. So many changes happened and things look to be set up for a conflict with Xcor & his group & BDB & the glymera & Assail. Things moved right along, but how long is Layla suppose to be pregnant. Liked Wrath's back story, and absolutely loved the length. ...more

Review to follow. However, as usual, this book did not disappoint.
