I was so worried that things might get a little stale or IDK? I just was worried it wasn't going to be good, & it wasn't....It was FANTASTIC! I was so happy for the King, it's nice getting to revisit Beth & Wrath. Getting to see how their lives are going since their mating & what it's all about being King. We find out it's not so fun...not only are you constantly a target others want to pick off, your I am So NEVER disappointed w/ my favorite vampmales author J.R. Ward! WOW what a awesome read! I was so worried that things might get a little stale or IDK? I just was worried it wasn't going to be good, & it wasn't....It was FANTASTIC! I was so happy for the King, it's nice getting to revisit Beth & Wrath. Getting to see how their lives are going since their mating & what it's all about being King. We find out it's not so fun...not only are you constantly a target others want to pick off, your where everyone goes with their troubles & dealing with the Glamoria alone would be enough to make anyone want to take a long day trip to a sunny beach! If your a vamp that is LOL! We are slowly getting to see whats going on with Xcor & Layla...wow is she's getting bold or what? And where are Assail & Sola are headed? I really hope that we get Selena & Trez's story next & I know a lot of people didn't like "the Shadows" but I do. I feel for Trez & his situation It's not much different than what Rehv was looking at but we'll see how it turns out for him & if he'll win Selena or she'll walk. I also loved that we finally get a little more out of iAm! He finally does more than grunt & yell at Trez! He opens up to Beth & we get a little tiny glimps of who might actually be behind the big shadow of a guy, & he might just be a major keeper! Another fun plus is we get a little more of John Mathew! He has a great time being a brother to Beth & she makes him feel like who they are, real family & brother & sister. We also have yet to find out whats up with his passing out or seizures he's having. He seems to only have them around Beth...right? But whatever is going on it's something big, I think. It's going to lead to something big anyway is my guess.
But what stold the show for me was Wrath! FINALLY we get to really meet the King. We get to see what he does, how he feels, why he feels it, where he wants things to go for their race & where he doesn't want them to go. It really make things come together. I love their new addition of their baby or should I say "little Wrath" Last What Wrath does for his people is wonderful, I often wondered how he was pulling off being a king but rarely ever seen because of not wanting people to know of his blindness. He realizes it makes him look like he's ashamed of it & he can't let that happen. He makes a lot of important decisions in this book & he also learns a lot about his people & himself, and it's all good! ...more

I almost gave up on this one a number of times. In the end I'm going with a "meh" rating. I did mostly like the Wrath & Beth stuff. But the casual misogyny sprinkled throughout made me put it down a number of times. There's just too many mentions of how the heroines "aren't like those other sluts/whores/whatever". I don't know if I missed it in the earlier books or if it really did get worse later in the series but I love the first 4 or 5 books in this series (I was even OK with V/Jane) but now ...more
